The event was hosted by Hungarian Review and the Lajos Batthyány Foundation and examined the cultural life of Hungarians living in the West after the defeat of the 1956 Revolution. Dilemmas of émigré existence were discussed by Hungarian intellectuals who had experienced them in their own lives: György Ferdinandy, Adám Makkai, Mátyás Sárközi, and Pál Szeredi.
