Janus Pannonius Translation Prize for Gyula Kodolányi
20th October 2016
The Hungarian PEN Club awarded its annual Janus Pannonius international poetry prizes on 7 October. The Translation Prize went to the Editor in Chief of Hungarian Review, Gyula Kodolányi, "for his interpretations and translations of the intellectually complex textual world of Anglo-Saxon poetries".
Kodolányi's book of translations from American verse, A létezés hálói (The Webs of Being) will be published in a new, revised edition, including recent translations, in Budapest on 15 November, at our offices, the Batthyány Lajos Foundation.
