KLÁRA HAMBURGER graduated in music history at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in 1961, she worked as librarian and music editor. She became a Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 2003, and is now Deputy Chair of the Musicology Committee there. She is an internationally known researcher of Liszt, and her works have been widely published in the world. She received an Award of Excellence from the American Liszt Society in 1993. In 2007 she received a Szabolcsi Bence Prize. In 1995 she was Secretary General of the Liszt Ferenc Society in
Budapest.
