PETER MURPHY (Armagh, Northern Ireland, 1971) is an Irish freelance journalist who has been living in Budapest, Hungary, and traveling throughout Eastern Europe since the mid-1990s. Most regularly he writes news and features for Xinhua news agency, as well as the online magazine Transitions Online. His work has also been published in UEFA.com, The Times, The Irish Times, CNN, Global Integrity, CNC World, Radio Netherlands, and the Hungarian daily Népszabadság.
