Piotr Naimski
Piotr Naimski is an opposition Member of the Polish Parliament and a former Deputy Minister for the Economy, specialising in energy security. Under Communism he was one of the founders of the Workers’ Defense Committee and a leading member of the Solidarity trade union. His academic training and early research work was as a biochemist. From 1996 to 2009 he held various academic positions in the National University–Louis University at Nowy Sacz, including the Faculty of Political Studies. From 1989 tothe present he has held several major positions in national security and economic ministries, on the staff of the Polish President, and in the Polish Parliament. He is an advisor to the New Directions think tank in Brussels.
