Raina Kostova

Dr. Kostova's research interests involve 20th-century American poetry and poetics, modern Russian literature and aesthetics, and literary theory. She published a number of translations of poems by Osip Mandelstam in collaboration with Professor Tony Brinkley from the University of Maine. A co-authored article with Brinkley on Mandelstam's "Ode to Stalin" and "Lines on the Unknown Soldier," recently appeared in Shofar. She has compiled a volume of translations of Mandelstam's poetry. Dr. Kostova attended and presented papers at the Modern Studies Association (MSA) and the American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies (AAASS). She is working on a comparative analysis of the poetics of Wallace Stevens and Osip Mandelstam.
